Hi!
I am looking in to getting my first hives soon. I have the opportunity to buy out a retiring beekeeper. He has 2 established hives that are part of the sale. I'm not really sure what to look for as far as health wise in the hives. If anyone has any advice for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

I need help! I am looking in to getting my first hives from a retiring beekeeper. Being as new as I am, I'm concerned that I'm not going to get a good deal. I'm mostly worried about the health of the bees. I know you can't really dig into the hives this time of year to really get a good look.
